Any word on when that will be coming?
What's the benefit of VoLTE? Will it be any clearer sounding than then standard watery garbled sounding CDMA?

Smart Move

They are doing the right thing. Let's get everyone off 3G so they can use that spectrum for 4G. I hope they don't get rid of 1X for voice because that could be bad.

That Verizon will carry a 4G Blackberry (BB10) device by end of year?
because they like being behind the curve. 😛
I'd hope blackberry would at least release a 4G devices, whether it be LTE or Sprint's Wi-Max since LTE is yet to be seen on Sprint.

Make it has reliable as your 3G first.

Only 5% of VZW's base is currently using 4G devices.

How many outages have there been lately? I know, I know, it's to be expected. Never the less it doesn't inspire confidence in consumers if you want them to switch to 4G. Especially if VZW is talking about going voice over LTE.
Second, battery life, battery life...remember when there weren't extended batteries? Oh the horror, what'd we do back then!?! 😳
And I think if tiered data plans have done one thing it's made consumers realize..."Hey, I don't need gobs and gobs of data." I think AT&T has even come out lately and said the majority of consumers don't even come close to using 5GB a month.

All good points, but...

I bet whats holding most people back from moving to 4G devices so quickly are things like being locked into existing contracts, availability only in Android devices, and like it or not lack of 4G in any iPhone which makes up...

Just because you have an LTE phone doesn't mean you have to use LTE all the time, if the LTE is 'wonky' or it hurts battery life, you can turn it off and use LTE only when you need it.
