LightSquared today announced that CEO Sanjiv Ahuja has vacated his leadership role at the embattled broadband company, though he will remain chairman of the board. LightSquared has spent the past year fighting the GPS industry over interference concerns with respect to its planned LTE 4G network in the L-band spectrum. Earlier this year, the government concluded that LightSquared's network would cause harm to the nation's GPS systems. While the company looks for a new CEO, Philip Falcone, the investor backing Harbinger Group, will join LightSquared's board of directors. The company is still committed to making its dream of a nationwide LTE 4G network a reality.
