Qualcomm Upgrades the SnapDragon S4's GPU
Qualcomm today announced an update to its SnapDragon line of processors. The SnapDragon S4 Pro uses the same basic architecture but updates the graphics processing unit to the Adreno 320. This GPU supports higher resolution displays, and other hardware/software configurations that will common among S4-class devices. The S4 Pro version of MSM8960 can handle devices as advanced as Windows 8 machines.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 Platform Jumps to 14nm Process
Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon 450 Platform, a new entry in its mid-tier range of processors for high-volume devices. The Snapdragon 450 is the first 400 series chip to make use of Qualcomm's 14nm process, which provides it with noticeable performance and efficiency gains over earlier chips.
Qualcomm Improves Its High-Tier Range with Snapdragon 660 and 630
Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 630 mobile platforms, two new systems-on-a-chip that the company says will dramatically improve speed, battery life, and photography for sub-flagship smartphones. The Snapdragon 660 succeeds the 653, while the 630 succeeds the 626.
Qualcomm Debuts New Snapdragon Processors
Qualcomm recently unveiled two new mobile application processors, the Snapdragon 412 and the Snapdragon 212. Both chips are updates to previous designs, the Snapdragon 410 and Snapdragon 210, respectively.
Qualcomm Intros New Snapdragon 600 and 400 Processors
Qualcomm today announced new Snapdragon application processors for mid-range and volume mobile devices. The Snapdragon 653, Snapdragon 626, and Snapdragon 427 are all paired with Qualcomm's X9 LTE modem with Cat 7 download (300Mbps) and Cat 13 upload (150Mbps) speeds; 2x20 MHz Carrier Aggregation; 64-QAM on the uplink; and VoLTE with Enhanced Voice Services.
LeTV Max Pro Calls Dibs On Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Chip
LeTV today announced the Max Pro, the first smartphone to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. In addition to Qualcomm's flagship chip, the Max Pro takes advantage of 802.11ad 60 GHz WiFi from Qualcomm and Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint technology.
