Samsung today announced the Galaxy Beam, an Android smartphone that comes with a pico projector for beaming visual content onto walls, screens, or other flat surfaces. The Galaxy Beam, which is not Samsung's first projector phone, can project content at 15 lumens in sizes up to 50 inches in 720p high definition. Other features of the Beam include a 4.0-inch, 480 x 800 display; 1GHz dual-core processor; 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus, flash, and video capture, as well as 1.3-megapixel user-facing camera. It has quad-band GSM/EDGE and HSPA 14Mbps cellular support, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Samsung didn't say if it will be updated to Android 4.0, and pricing and availability were not disclosed.
