Google Updates Music Manager for Easier File Management
Google today provided an update to its Music Manager software for computers. This software is what syncs your PC-based music library with Google's cloud-based music storage service for Androids smartphones. The new version contains a tool that lets users download all the tracks from Google Music back down to a PC, including those users have purchased and those users have uploaded. Additionally, Google has made it possible to share YouTube videos that are associated with Google Music purchases to Google+. The new software is free to download and use.
YouTube Music App Launches for Android and iOS
YouTube's stand-alone music app is now available for download. The app includes a home tab for recommended artists, as well as user-configurable stations based on individual tastes.
Google Music for Android Gains Support for Podcasts
Google today added podcasts to the online and Android versions of its Google Music service. Similar to how Google Music suggests playlists for certain moods or activities, so too will the service recommend podcasts based on interests and activities.

Google plans to shake up its music offering and ad-free video service, according to statements made by Lyor Cohen, the head of Google Play Music. As it stands today, Google Play Music is available to a single person for $10 per month and families for $15 per month.

Google has made it simpler to find music when casting or streaming thanks to a small update to the Google Home app. The latest version of Google Home now includes a Listen tab that's dedicated to music.
Google Play Music to Be Default Music Player on All Samsung Devices
Google and Samsung today said starting with the launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Google Play Music will be the default music player and music service on Samsung phones and tablets globally. Consumers who buy the S8 or S8+ will receive a free three-month trial of Google Play Music, which offers ad-free access to some 40 million tracks.
