Nokia Unloads Some GSM Patents
Nokia has sold a total of 450 patents to a European patent licensing company called Sisvel. The patents include some "essential" telecommunications technologies, such as GSM, UMTS/WCDMA and LTE. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Nokia and Samsung Settle Patent Licensing Deal
Nokia today said it has reached an agreement with Samsung over the licensing of its wireless patents. The companies have been disputing the value of Nokia's patents since Nokia sold its handset division to Microsoft.

BlackBerry filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Nokia this week. BlackBerry claims Nokia is using its patented technology in select telecommunications equipment that Nokia sells to network operators, such as T-Mobile, without the proper licenses.
Nokia, Apple File Dueling Patent Lawsuits
Nokia and Apple have this week filed patent-related lawsuits against one another in various jurisdictions. Nokia's claims, filed in Germany and the U.S., say that Apple is using Nokia's patented technology without permission.
