Nokia today said that a software update will be provided to the Lumia 800 to resolve a problem with the phone's battery life. According to Nokia, the Lumia 800's battery itself is fine, but the software is not recognizing the fully charged capacity of the battery, thereby shortening battery life. The update will be provided in early 2012, though Nokia was not more specific than that. Nokia said that this problem does not affect the Lumia 710, which goes on sale in the U.S. starting January 11 via T-Mobile USA.
