Facebook App for iPhone Gains Timeline
Facebook updated its application for iOS devices over the weekend. The update included one major new feature: Support for the Facebook Timeline layout (which must first be activated online). Other new features include access to friends lists, subscribers and subscriptions; photos are easier to upload, view, and comment on; and it also includes some performance enhancements. The application is free to download from the iPhone App Store.
Facebook to Support iPhone's Live Photos
The Facebook iOS application now lets users upload, share, and view Live Photos captured with the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus. Live Photos debuted with the newest iPhones from Apple earlier this year.
Facebook Turns On Support for 360-Degree Photos
Facebook today made it possible for people to upload and view 360-degree imagery. The tool includes support for panorama-style photos, as well as full 360-degree photos or photo spheres.
Facebook Brings Graph Search to iPhone
Facebook today detailed some updates it's made to search both on Facebook.com and within the iPhone app. Most importantly, Facebook is adding Graph Search to the iPhone mobile app, which will allow iPhone users to search for things such as "Which of my friends likes 'Homeland'?" and other natural language queries.
Facebook Debuts Moments App for Sharing Event Photos
Facebook today announced a new application called Moments. The app is meant to help people share photos privately with others — even if they don't use Facebook.
Instagram's Layout App Reaches Android
Instagram today made its Layout application available to the Android platform. Available to the iPhone since March, Layout makes it easier to assemble collages through custom layouts, easy access to photos containing people, and a handful of tools such as pinch-to-zoom and other effects.
