Google+ Update for Android Mirrors iOS with New Features
Google today provided an update to the Android version of its Google+ application. The new version adds a handful of features, including a better search tool, the ability to +1 photos and +1 comments, support for high-resolution photo uploads, better presence in the messenger function, and support for instant uploads of videos. The new version also opens web links within the application itself, and provides a number of bug fixes. Google+ is a free download and requires Android version 2.1 and up.
Google's More Social Photos App Now Rolling Out
Google today made its new Google Photos app available to Android and iOS devices, as well as on the web. The revised photo management application adds several hallmark features, including suggested sharing and shared libraries.
Latest Google Photos App Improves Search
Google is rolling out an update to its Google Photos app for Android with a new search bar. The app places the search bar at the top, replacing the floating action button that previously adorned the lower corner of the app.
Google Messenger Gains Desktop Widget
Google has pushed out an update to its Messenger application for Android devices and in so doing added a few new features. Messenger now has its own desktop widget for viewing conversations from Android home screen panels.
Google's Allo Messaging App Lands On the Web, Sort Of
Google today brought its assistant-backed Allo messaging application to the web. Allo on the web requires Google's Chrome browser and can only interact with Allo on Android smartphones for now (iPhone support is coming later.) Google says Allo web access requires the latest version of the mobile Allo app on your handset in order to function.
