Galaxy Nexus to Cost $299, Says Wall Street Journal
Verizon Wireless will sell the Galaxy Nexus smartphone for $299.99 with a new contract, reports the Wall Street Journal. Citing sources familiar with Verizon's plans, the device will go on sale later this month and will require a two-year commitment in order to get the subsidized sale price. Verizon Wireless has charged $299.99 for most of its Long Term Evolution 4G smartphones at launch. The Galaxy Nexus will be the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone to officially go on sale in the U.S. when it finally becomes available. Verizon Wireless declined to comment on the Journal's story, and has yet to announce availability for the Galaxy Nexus.
Google Wireless Service May Require Nexus 6
Google's forthcoming wireless service will only be available to the Nexus 6 handset at launch, reports the Wall Street Journal. Citing sources familiar with Google's plans, the Journal says Google's wireless service will "weave together" access from T-Mobile and Sprint's cellular services, in addition to WiFi.

Verizon Communications has lined up several deals that will earn it up to $10 billion, reports the Wall Street Journal. The company took on a massive amount of debt to buy Vodafone's portion of Verizon Wireless last year.
Verizon Picks Up Samsung's Galaxy J3
Verizon Wireless has added the Samsung Galaxy J3 to its lineup of inexpensive smartphones. The J3, which has been for sale from Boost Mobile and other carriers since early this year, has a 5-inch 720p screen, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 16 GB (postpaid) or 8 GB (prepaid) of storage, 5-megapixel main camera with flash, 2-megapixel front camera, and 2,600mAh battery.
Verizon Not Yet Saying when Galaxy S6 Goes On Sale
Verizon was the last of the major carriers today to announce pricing and availability details for its version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The company will begin taking pre-orders for the phones on April 1, but Verizon did not provide a shipping or in-store date.
Republic Wireless Improves Android Lineup
Republic Wireless today said it has added nine modern smartphones to its lineup of Android devices. The new phones include the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge ($799), S7 ($699), J3 ($179), and S6 ($549); the Nexus 6P ($499) and 5X ($349); and the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition ($349), G4 ($199), and G4 Plus ($299).
