Virgin Mobile Running Free 500MB of Data Promotion
Virgin Mobile is running a limited promotion whereby new customers who purchase and activate a Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go device will be eligible for 500MB of free data during their first month of service. Virgin Mobile spokesperson Beth Evegan confirmed the details to FierceWireless, and said that customers must make the purchase by November 15 and activate the device by December 12 in order to qualify. Virgin normally charges $20 per month for 500MB of data. The promotion comes on the heels of Verizon's double-the-data LTE promotion, which runs through the end of the year and offers new and existing customers the opportunity to double their monthly allotment of mobile data.
Virgin Mobile USA Relaunches As An iPhone-Only Carrier
Virgin Mobile USA, which is owned and operated by Sprint, transformed itself today into new provider much more closely aligned with the Virgin brand. Significantly, Virgin Mobile USA is now an iPhone-only carrier, meaning Apple's iPhones are the only phones Virgin will sell moving forward.
Boost and Virgin Mobile Outline Galaxy S7 Launch
Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile today both confirmed plans to offer the Samsung Galaxy S7 to their prepaid customers. Boost will kick off sales of the flagship handset on March 11, with Virgin to follow March 18.
Virgin Mobile Improves Data Allotments
Virgin Mobile today announced the Data Done Right promotion, which kicks off May 16 at Walmart stores. The new plans offer 300 minutes, unlimited texting, and 3GB of high-speed data for $30 per month, or unlimited voice, texting, and 3GB for $40.
Verizon Offering Bonus Data to Family Plan Subscribers
Verizon Wireless says families of four can get 16 GB of mobile data for $150 per month thanks to a new bonus data promotion. Verizon charges $70 per month for its 8 GB (or, L) plan.
