Quanta Signs Android Licensing Agreement with Microsoft
Microsoft today announced that it has reached an accord with Quanta Computer, which will grant Quanta use of Microsoft's patent portfolio. The patents in question pertain to technology that will be used in Quanta’s tablets, smartphones, and other devices running the Android or Chrome platforms. Microsoft has signed a number of similar deals with makers of Android smartphones.
Microsoft, Kyocera Expand Patent-Licensing Deal
Microsoft today said that it has expanded the scale of a patent cross-licensing agreement with Kyocera. Microsoft and Kyocera are now able to use a broader range of one another's technologies in a variety of products.
