Verizon Adds Faces to Ringtones to Create Facetones
Verizon Wireless today announced the availability of a new application called Facetones. Facetones, which was developed by Vringo, automatically pulls photos from users' Facebook accounts to create a slideshow that plays on the phone's display when the phone rings. The service works on about 20 Android and BlackBerry smartphones. It can be downloaded through the V CAST Apps store and costs $0.99 per month or can be purchased for a one-time fee of $2.99.
Google Photos Picks Up New Slideshow Feature
Google today made it easier to view photo albums online and on Android handsets with a new slideshow tool. Photos users need only open an album, click a picture, and select "slideshow" from the dropdown menu to initiate a slideshow of all the photos in that particular album.

Verizon Wireless has improved the Verizon Cloud app for Android devices with new features called Smart Albums and Print Shop. Smart Albums can automatically select the best photos and videos to create albums based on events and locations.

Facebook is prepared to ease the process of creating compelling video posts with your pictures. The company today said it plans to relocate the Slideshow feature built into its Moments app and drop it into the main Facebook app for iOS.
Facebook Messenger Takes a Shot at Snapchat with 'Days'
Facebook is updating its Messenger application with disappearing stories that behave similar to those of Snapchat and Instagram. The feature, called Messenger Day, lets people create short stories made up of photos and videos and then share them with their Facebook friends.
