T-Mobile USA and Wal-Mart today announced a new pre-paid offering that will only be available directly from Wal-Mart stores and T-Mobile.com. For $30 per month, pre-paid, no-contract customers get 5GB of 4G mobile web (speeds reduced above 5GB per month); unlimited text messaging; and 100 minutes of voice calls with a $0.10 charge per minute over 100 minutes. The new plan will be available at Wal-Mart's stores and web site, and T-Mobile's web site starting October 16.

Another limited "unlimited" plan

This is the kind of thing the FCC or the FTC should be coming down on hard. UNLIMITED is not a vague word! Either there are limits on how much and in what manner a service may be used or their aren't. This is esp. true with 4G starting to go mainstream. A 5gb cap is a joke on that kind of connection. Now, having stated these obvious truths...this is probably the best plan anyone could hope for IF there are some decent phones or you can bring your own. If you can get T-MO and your mostly about data and txt, then you'd be crazy not to jump on this.
It's quite simple. The AMOUNT of data is unlimited. The SPEED is what's limited, so the claims are not false. By your definition, there's no such thing as UNLIMITED data because all technologies have a limit on how much speed t...

As was mentioned by crood...unlimited data not unlimited 4G speed.

What is so hard for people to understand about this?

It gets unlimited data...at least at Edge speeds..

No overage on data.

*Unlimited edge data after 5 GB of 4G speeds.

$30 for 5GB and messaging isn't bad

This plan will entice many users including hearing impaired, less talk and more internet, or under the situation isn't good for voice talking (like under noisy enviornment).
Yes I overall like this plan...I do not know if it will be popular or not; I really can't tell...but more options is usually better.

nice!! going to give it a try!!

since i dont talk on phone much, this is a great deal!
Yeah, agree, this is a really great deal! 🙂 I know alot of people don't talk much nowadays and the good thing is it also gives you unlimited texting. 4G speed for 5G is absolutely excellent! Even though if you just use your phone as a wifi hotspot,...

Skype?

If Skype or similar can work well on Tmo data, this would be a great deal.
It does if you have a device that has the app, and you are in a 3G/4G area.
