Research In Motion today announced the beta launch of BBM Music, a new social music sharing service for BlackBerries. With BBM Music, BlackBerry users can build their own profile and playlists with up to 50 songs. Users then invite their BBM contacts to join their community and that person's songs become available to everyone in the community and vice versa. As users add to their BBM Music community, the number of available tracks for them to listen to grows and grows. RIM believes the service will let people discover and enjoy music through their BBM contacts. BBM Music lets users comment on songs and playlists, as well as see chronological views of the community's updates and additions, and charts on which songs are the most popular. BBM Music also supports device-side caching for listening when offline. BBM Music is currently in a closed beta to registered Beta Zone testers. It will be available to all BlackBerry users later this year for $4.99 per month.

Interesting...

Okay this actually sounds really cool. Is there an Android app out there that does this as well? Hadn't really looked but I think I might enjoy something like this.
No clue but I agree this is very interesting. Especially with the release of a 4G blackberry, I want to see how this develops.
