Nokia today announced the 600, one of three new Symbian Belle smartphones. The 600's most prominent feature is its speakerphone, which Nokia says is the loudest it has ever produced. It also features an FM transmitter and FM receiver with built-in antenna, so users can listen to the radio through the loudspeaker without the need to plug in headphones (which normally serve as the antenna). Other features of the Nokia 600 are similar to the 700, and include penta-band HSDPA/HSUPA 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 3.0, radios. The display measures 3.2-inches with 640 x 360 pixels, and it runs on a 1GHz processor. The Nokia 600 also boasts a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capture; support for near-field communications and NFC-based accessories; and includes 2GB of on-board storage with support for microSD cards up to 32GB. Nokia expects the 600 to ship in the third quarter for about $260 before subsidies.
