The messaging tools available on the Status mirror that of other Sense 3.0 devices. The Status offers the same Gmail, email, GTalk, SMS/MMS, that appear on every other Android device. There are no surprises here.

HTC' FriendStream application/widget is on board for catching all your social networking feeds in one place. FriendStream's performance has improved dramatically over the years, and the version on the Status feels speedy and consistent.

The Status also includes the native Twitter application out of the box.

AT&T today announced via its Facebook page that it will offer a re-branded version of the HTC ChaCha, to be called the Status, later this summer for an undisclosed price. The single most interesting feature of the Status is that it has a "Facebook button" and customized software that allows users to more easily share what they are doing with their Facebook accounts.

Qualcomm has revealed Snapdragon Satellite , the company's solution for connecting Android phones directly to satellites for truly global coverage. The feature uses the Iridium network, a satellite constellation that has has been in operation for 25 years.
