At a recent financial analyst briefing in New York, AT&T executives announced tentative plans to revive the AT&T brand for wireless, after Cingular completes its acquisition of AT&T Wireless. Once the merger is complete, the brand will revert to ownership by the original AT&T company, which currently deals only in wireline service. In order to continue offering bundled wireline/wireless packages, the company plans to establish an MVNO relationship with an existing major wireless carrier.

AT&T too big. Never made sense.

I feel like I should have seen this coming.

Why the hell would AT&T just up and sell off the biggest, new technology they have? It was almost like they were saying, "We're through with this wireless bullshit."

I don't know how the FCC is letting anyone get away with something like this. What a corporate steaming load.

cingular/att multiple market conspiracy

the at&t revival idea sounds like a corporate loophole to maintain 2 different cellular liscences in 1 area, thus creating additional revenue for big poppa cingular wireless while sidestepping the fcc's rules

The important question is. When do we get to see some of this cash!!!!! AT&T needs to make up their damn mind about what they are going to do. And hey if they found a loophole more power to em. 😁
AT&T...they are morons....first off back when the parent company bought out TCI Cable...then the stock voters said to split up the companies...big mistake!! The way it should have been was to keep AT&T whole with everything...but now that they sold A...

What a great Idea combining AT&T with Cingular Wireless! 😁
Not at all; it's no loophole or conspiracy.

AT&T Wireless is already a completely independent company from AT&T. The only current relationship is that AT&T lets AT&T Wireless use their brand and logo, and they have a bundling arrangement that lets ...
