Cellular South and LightSquared today announced that they have forged a deal that will allow Cellular South customers to roam onto and use LightSquared's 4G Long Term Evolution network. It will also allow LightSquared's wholesale customers to roam onto and use Cellular South's cellular network. LightSquared is building a nationwide LTE network using L-band spectrum that it plans to launch later this year. It has inked roaming deals with other smaller operators, including Cricket Wireless and Open Range. It may also be near to announcing a network access deal with Sprint.

They shut Verizon out lol

It's good that they turned down verizons offer to build out their lte spectrum is Cell Souths area. Going with Lightsquared is a much wiser option. Every hole in verizons lte network is either an area they won't offer coverage or one that they will spend a lot of cover themselves. For a smaller carrier, it would be really stupid to sign on with the verizon scam plan.
Eh... yes and no. If the smaller carrier's president and/or CEO is in it for the short term and just wants to make a few million by selling out to a bigger carrier, then building Verizon's network isn't such a bad idea.
