Curitel To Buy Audiovox Communications

Audiovox announced today that it has signed a non-binding letter of intent to sell a controlling interest in its wireless subsidiary, Audiovox Communications Corp. (ACC) to Korean phone manufacturer Curitel. Currently, Audiovox owns 75% of ACC and Toshiba owns the remaining interest. Curitel currently manufactures phones sold in ACC's 8000 model series, while Toshiba supplies phones for the 9000 series.

Better Phones

😕 Does this mean Audiovox will come out with better phones?
IMO, it means don't count on any Toshiba-made Audiovox phones. Does it mean that there would be no more Toshiba phones for Verizon or Sprint? No, of course not. US market would be too big for Toshiba to miss. Toshiba most likely will start marketing t...
