Cricket Signs Roaming Agreement with Lightsquared
Cricket Wireless has signed a long-term roaming agreement with Lightsquared, which will give Cricket customers access to Lightsquared's forthcoming Long Term Evolution 4G network. Cricket will use Lightsquared's LTE coverage to supplement areas where it lacks its own coverage. Cricket said that its LTE network will launch later this year, though it has yet to name the initial batch of markets.

Cricket Wireless today appointed John Dwyer as president and head of operations. Dwyer replaces Jennifer Van Buskirk, who has moved to another position within Cricket's parent company, AT&T.

Cricket Wireless says the vast majority of customers have transitioned away from its legacy CDMA network ahead of tomorrow's planned shutdown. AT&T has been moving Cricket customers from the older CDMA network to its own GSM-based network since it acquired the carrier several years ago.
