Phone Scoop shows off HTC's Thunderbolt, the first LTE 4G smartphone to become available from Verizon Wireless. Check out our quick video tour.

The HTC Thunderbolt goes on sale Thursday, March 17, at Verizon Wireless stores and other retailers for $249.99 with a new contract. Phone Scoop received a review unit today, and wanted to quickly give you a taste of what the Thunderbolt looks like.

It is a large slab phone that has a 4.3-inch touch display, dual cameras, and a kick-stand. It's big, slightly thick and bulky, but still manages to feel good in the hand thanks to steeply rounded sides.

Our first impressions of the hardware and software are favorable. The buttons and controls feel good, and the HTC Sense user interface was fluid and moved lightning quick.

Unfortunately, I don't live in an area with LTE 4G coverage, so we haven't been able to test the LTE data speeds yet. But don't worry, we surely will! Stay tuned for Phone Scoop's full report on the Thunderbolt in the coming days.

Until then, we humbly offer this video tour:

Agreed. I just started using it and was thinking a great nightstand clock, oh wait. this wont work because the charge port is restingon the nightstand. Major FAIL as the most likely places I will use the kickstand are the same places I will want th...
Good thing the screen flips around with the phone, so the fact that the charging ports are on the other side does not matter.
Im sure this was done on purpose that people would be "encouraged" to buy a docking station lol
