Kyocera Echo Launching April 17 for $199.99
Sprint today announced that it will offer the Kyocera Echo dual-screened Android device for sale starting April 17 for the price of $199.99. It will be available on all Sprint retail channels on that date. Customers may also chose to reserve an Echo starting on March 26. The Echo has two displays that work in concert with one another or separately. It also has a 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, and stereo Bluetooth.
AT&T Customers Will Be Able to Send Text Messages via Amazon Echo
The AT&T Send Message Skill, set to be made available on November 19, will let AT&T customers send text messages by asking their Amazon Echo to do it for them. The skill we be added to the Amazon Alexa application (for Android and iOS).
More Carriers and Phone Makers Agree to Adopt Google's RCS-Based 'Android Messages' Service
Google today said more wireless network operators and handset manufacturers will use Android Messages, its RCS-based messaging service, as the default SMS/MMS tool on their phones. (Android Messages was previously known as Google Messenger.) Some of the features of RCS, which is a global standard, include group chat, high-resolution photo sharing, advanced calling features, and read receipts.
Sprint to Sell LG G5 April 1, Preorders Start March 24
Sprint said it will begin accepting preorders for the LG G5 on March 24. The device will reach stores April 1.
Microsoft and Amazon Let Cortana and Alexa Talk to One Another
Microsoft and Amazon today announced a new partnership that will allow Windows 10 users to access Alexa via Cortana, and Echo users to access Cortana via Alexa. The tie-up lets people use one personal assistant to open the other.
