Nokia Adds Camera, Mapping APIs to New Qt SDK
Nokia today announced the availability of a new software developer kit for Qt. Qt SDK Beta 1.1's primary new feature is Qt Quick, which Nokia says makes it easier and faster for developers and designers to create Qt applications. The beta also includes new APIs — such as access to the camera, gallery, maps, calendar and location-based applications — and improvements to the user interface tools. The beta is an update to the "technical preview" that has been available for several months.

Google today made Android N Developer Preview 4 available to developers and beta testers. Google says devices that are enrolled in the beta program should be able to update to the newest preview right away.

Google today made Android O Developer Preview 4 available to application developers and said this is the final preview before Google releases Android O to consumers later this year. This build contains the final user interface system behaviors, the latest bug fixes and optimizations, and the final set of APIs.
Apple Reiterates that All New Apps Must Support iPhone X
Apple today released a new beta build of iOS 11.4 and reminded developers that they need to use the latest tools and support the newest devices as they code their apps. "Starting July 2018, all iOS app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 11 SDK and must support the Super Retina display of iPhone X," said Apple on its developer web site.
