ooVoo to Support Video Chats Between iPhone and Android
Video chat company ooVoo today announced a forthcoming application for Apple's iOS devices that will allow them to conduct video chats with users of Android smartphones as well as Apple and Windows computers. ooVoo's software is capable of creating a 6-way video chat and it works via Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G. ooVoo said it expects its iOS application to become available in April. It is already available for Android handsets and desktops.
iOS 12 Adds Group FaceTime
Apple today said its FaceTime video chat app will support multi-person chats. It can handle between two and 32 people at a single time.
Snapchat Adds Group Chats for Up to 16 People
Snapchat updated its mobile app today with a new feature. Users can now video chat with up to 16 of their friends at one time.
Facebook Messenger Gains Group Video Chats
Facebook today launched group video chats within Messenger. The tool will allow up to six participants to view one another in a live video call.
Facebook Brings Instant Video to Messenger
Facebook today added the ability to stream video live within its Messenger application. The feature is different from a two-way video chat, which has been part of Messenger since 2015.
