Twitter Updates Official Android App
Twitter has provided a new version of its application for the Android platform. The latest version includes a significantly redesigned user interface, which Twitter says was made to look more like the official Twitter client for other platforms. Other features include auto-complete for Twitter names, and easier tools for managing Tweets, reTweets, and @replies. The search function has also been widely retooled, which allows for searches for specific people, terms, locations, as well as searches for friends directly from your address book. The updated software is a free download from the Android Market.

Twitter for Microsoft's Windows 10 platform has been given a significant update, putting it more in line with the apps available to Android and iOS devices. For example, Twitter now includes the Moments tab for summaries of current events and support for inserting GIFs into tweets.

Twitter has packaged a new feature into its iOS application that aims to catch people up on what they might have missed on Twitter while away. Twitter said it will surface some of the best tweets based on engagement and other factors.
