Motorola announced via its forums that it will not update the Cliq XT ro Android 2.1 as originally stated. A forum manager said, "After comprehensive testing of the Android 2.1 upgrade for the Cliq XT, we have concluded that this device will remain on Android 1.5. We realize many of you were anxiously awaiting this upgrade, but we aim to deliver software upgrades only when it will provide a better customer experience." Motorola said it spent months trying to make Android 2.1 run on the Cliq XT, but said they couldn't get it to meet their software standards.

Typical Moto Garbage

Yep, and yet they prove again why they are garbage and should be out of business at this point, more or less probably not very cost effective to roll out the update now when they can be making big bucks on their new devices instead. Hopefully they do go out of business soon.
Yeah. Motorola will DEFINITELY fo out of business because they didn't drop 2.1 for the CLIQ XT... you know, since its their flagship device. yep. you're right. 🙄

Well?

What they need is to hire some of those 17 year olds who developed roms for the Cliq over at xda-dev and fire the over paid tools they have working for them now.
