Lightsquared today announced that it and business partner Inmarsat are moving into phase two of their plan to build out a national LTE-based wireless broadband network. Lightsquared will pay Inmarset $115 million per year to use the spectrum. Earlier this week, the FCC gave Lightsquared permission to use the L-Band spectrum for cellular-only communications.
