Hulu Headed to Android
Samsung today during its keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show confirmed that Hulu is preparing an application for Google's Android platform. Hulu provides streaming online video content. Samsung did not say when the application might be made available.
Google Targeting November for Daydream VR Launch
Google today detailed the launch plans for its Daydream virtual reality platform. The company said the Daydream Viewer will be available in November for $79, which includes both the headset and controller together.
OneDrive for Android Now Supports Video Streaming
Microsoft recently updated its OneDrive application for the Android platform with improved support for video content. OneDrive users can now stream videos stored online without leaving the OneDrive app.
Google to Stream App Content Via Search
Google today said its mobile search tool is now able to show content that may be buried within apps. Google began indexing the content of mobile apps two years ago, and has more than 100 billion deep links into apps such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Google Refreshes Its Chromecast Products for TVs and Stereos
Google today announced two new Chromecast products meant to help improve the living room experience. The Chromecast 2 TV dongle uses HDMI to plug into television sets and includes dual-band 802.11ac WiFi for improved performance with the local wireless network.
Samsung to Pour Milk Video Down the Drain Nov. 20
Samsung today indicated via the Google Play Store that it will discontinue its Milk Video app and service for Android smartphones. "While we remain committed to providing premium entertainment services, we have decided to end support for the Samsung Milk Video app as of November 20, 2015," said Samsung.
