Google Fixing Long-Standing Android SMS Bug

In an update on the Google Android bug tracker site, Google has acknowledged the issues surrounding the apparent SMS text messaging bug in Android device. Google claims the problem is actually two distinct issues, one of which has to do with how the message is displayed, and the other with how the message is delivered. Google says it has fixes for both issues. Presumably, pure Google devices like the two Nexus phones will receive a fix over-the-air, while carrier- and manufacturer-tweaked phones will need to wait for updates from the respective parties involved.
Google Pushes Minor Update to Android O Beta
Google today distributed a bug-fixing update to the Android O beta. The small patch, weighing it at about 55 MB, is meant to smooth out some performance issues present in the initial build.

Google today delivered minor system updates to its Pixel and Nexus devices. The factory images made available from Google for the Pixel and Nexus handsets bring back the "check for update" button within the system settings.
Google Pushes Second Beta of Android 7.1.2
Google has released a second beta update for Android 7.1.2. Build NPG47I is rolling out to the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player devices, as long as those devices are enrolled in the public beta program.
Google's April Security Update for Android Now Live
Google today highlighted its April security patch, which is first being delivered to Nexus smartphones and tablets. The patch resolves 29 issues, of which eight are considered critical.
Google Reveals When Nexus Phones Will Cease Receiving Android Updates
Google revised its Nexus support page and provided more information on how long Nexus-branded phones will receive future software updates. Google says Nexus devices will get Android version updates (Lollipop, Marshmallow, etc.) for at least two years from when the device became available on the Google Store.
