RIM Updates Facebook Beta to Version 1.9
Research In Motion today provided an update to its Facebook application for the BlackBerry platform. Registered users of RIM's BlackBerry Beta Zone can download Facebook 1.9, which offers a number of new features. The biggest improvement is the addition of a dedicated inbox for Facebook messages. Users can retrieve Facebook emails from a separate inbox placed on the home screen or from the Facebook app itself. Facebook 1.9 also adds a better search tool for finding friends and pages, and also now integrates with Universal Search in BlackBerry 6. BlackBerry 1.9 also has a refreshed friends list and a refreshed navigation bar. The beta is free to testers, and RIM asks beta testers to provide feedback before offering the software to the general public.
Facebook Brings Graph Search to iPhone
Facebook today detailed some updates it's made to search both on Facebook.com and within the iPhone app. Most importantly, Facebook is adding Graph Search to the iPhone mobile app, which will allow iPhone users to search for things such as "Which of my friends likes 'Homeland'?" and other natural language queries.

Facebook today is pushing an update to its search tool in order to make topics and conversations easier to find. The tool expands beyond the borders of users' immediate friends and family, and will search through all of Facebook to see what people are saying about any given subject or event.

Facebook has made its Events application available to Android handsets via the Google Play Store. Events By Facebook, released to iOS devices in October, lets users find and schedule things to do with family and friends.

Facebook today announced a new app called Events, which is meant to help Facebook users find and schedule tings to do with family and friends. The app will highlight events that friends are planning to attend, new events added by liked pages, and updates from events to which users may have already RSVP'd.
