Google has added an updated version of YouTube to the list of core Android applications that can be updated outside of the main operating system. YouTube version 2.0.26 for Android 2.2 handsets and higher offers a number of new features, including a new user interface, in-page playback, personalized home screens, new player controls, and rotate-for-fullscreen playback. The application is a free download from the Android Market.

The new app
