Motorola Debuts Its First LTE Modem
Motorola today announced its first USB-based FDD-LTE wireless broadband modem for use with laptops. Motorola says the USB-lt 7110 will be ideal for "video conferencing, high-definition content streaming, video blogging and the ability to quickly upload video onto social networking sites." Motorola didn't say which network operators might deploy its new LTE laptop dongle, nor when it would be available, nor what it might cost. Verizon Wireless is launching its LTE network in 35 cities later this year, and AT&T is launching LTE in mid-2011.
Verizon, Samsung Offer Small Cell for Improved In-Home Coverage
Verizon Wireless today announced the 4G LTE Network Extender for homes and small businesses. The small box provides LTE coverage in buildings up to about 7,500 square feet, including services such as HD Voice and high-speed data.

Samsung has breached 1.2 Gbps downloads with its latest LTE modem. The new radio is intended for Samsung's next-generation Exynos mobile processor and is the first to support six carrier aggregation (6CA), according to the company.

Sprint today said it has debuted gigabit-class LTE in New Orleans. The gigabit LTE requires 3-channel carrier aggregation using 60 MHz of Sprint's 2.5 GHz spectrum (Band 41) with 4x4 MIMO and 256 QAM modulation.
Verizon Debuts LTE Advanced with 50% Faster Speeds
Verizon Wireless today said it has launched LTE Advanced service in 461 markets around the country, covering some 288 million POPs or 90% of Americans. Verizon's LTE Advanced relies on two- and three-channel carrier aggregation to boost speed and capacity.
