Nokia's Ex-MeeGo Chief Lands At Palm

Ari Jaaksi, the former head of Nokia's MeeGo hardware division, has recently joined HP's Palm as senior vice president of WebOS. Jaaksi will start with Palm in November, according to AllThingsD. This mirrors the move of Peter Skillman, who was VP of Design at Palm, but left the company to join Nokia as VP of user experiences and services on MeeGo.
HP to Shutter WebOS Support January 15
HP recently indicated that it will cease all backend support for WebOS devices on January 15. After that time, WebOS device owners will no longer be able to download or update apps, reset or restore their devices, setup new devices, or retrieve lost passwords.
TCL to Revive Palm with Help from the Tech Community
TCL Communications, the parent company of Alcatel OneTouch, today confirmed to Phone Scoop that it has acquired the Palm brand and plans to revive the failed tech company. "We are interested in the brand because we believe the brand has value," said TCL CEO George Guo.

Microsoft's Jo Harlow to Depart, Too
Microsoft has confirmed that Jo Harlow, head of the company's mobile phones, will leave alongside device chief Stephen Elop in the weeks ahead. Harlow began at Nokia in 2003 and played a role in Nokia's switch to Windows Phone in 2011.
