Microsoft Confirms Oct. 11 Launch for Windows Phone 7
Microsoft has issued an invitation to press for the official launch of the Windows Phone 7 platform. The event will take place on October 11, in New York City and other cities around the world. The invitation notes that T-Mobile Windows Phone 7 devices will be on hand and T-Mobile will make product- and service-related announcements. Microsoft first debuted Windows Phone 7 in February this year. Devices are expected to be available by the holiday shopping season.

Microsoft today said owners of handsets running Windows Phone 8 / 8.1 will have to wait a bit longer to receive Windows 10. The update was originally expected to arrive this month, but Microsoft has now delayed the rollout.
Microsoft Pushes Another Preview to Windows 10 Phones
Microsoft today made Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview build 10549 available to testers in the Windows Insider program. Microsoft says a bug in the new preview mandates that devices first downgrade to Windows Phone 8.1, rather than install from the most recent technical preview (10536).
