Nokia Buys Motally
Nokia today announce that it has signed an agreement to acquire U.S.-based Motally for an undisclosed sum. Motally provides mobile analytics software that Nokia and developers for Nokia's mobile platforms can use to better understand in-app behavior and how people use their devices. Motally's software will be adapted to work with Qt, Symbian, MeeGo, and Java. Nokia expects the acquisition to close during the third quarter of 2010.
Nokia's HERE Maps to Acquire Medio
Nokia today announced its HERE Maps division has agreed to acquire a Seattle-based company called Medio. Medio provides real-time predictive analytics based on mapping, navigation, and location data.

Nokia Networks today announced its intent to acquire Eden Rock Communications for an undisclosed sum. Eden Rock pioneered self-organizing networks (SON) technology for mobile broadband operators.
Microsoft Hands Off Nokia Phone App Store to Opera
Microsoft today announced that Opera Software will soon provide the default app store for older Nokia handsets. Beginning in the first quarter of 2015, the Opera Mobile Store will replace the Nokia Store on devices running the Series 40, Series 60, Symbian, Asha, and Nokia X operating systems.
Nokia to Acquire Withings for Health and Fitness Push
Nokia today said it plans to acquire Withings for about $192 million in cash. Nokia hopes the acquisition will help it make a stronger push into the markets for wearables and the internet of things.
