RIM Makes BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 Available for PCs
Research In Motion has made the Windows version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 available for download. RIM had originally offered it in beta form in July. Its release for Windows PCs precedes the launch of the BlackBerry 9800 Torch, which runs BlackBerry 6. The new version of the desktop client makes syncing media content between PCs and BlackBerry 6 handsets easier and more user friendly, and allows syncing via Wi-Fi. It initially supports the 9800 Torch and 9300 Curve.

The latest collaboration between BlackBerry Mobile and TCL is the Motion, a large slab that runs Android and boasts BlackBerry's powerful productivity tools. Mobile pros will be happy with features such as BlackBerry Hub and the Productivity Tab, while businesses that deploy the Motion will appreciate the DTEK security software.
BlackBerry Overhauls Productivity Tab for Android
BlackBerry today pushed out a brand new version of the Productivity Tab application for Android handsets, including the Priv, DTEK50, and DTEK60. BlackBerry says the Productivity Tab is now cleaner and more user friendly thanks to the addition of features such as Quick Triage for items in the Hub.
BlackBerry to Cease Monthly Updates for the Priv, Launch Trade-Up Program
BlackBerry said this week that it will no longer provide monthly system and security updates to its BlackBerry Priv smartphone. The company originally committed to providing updates for a period of two years.
Windows 10 for PCs Lands July 29; No Word On Mobile
Microsoft today announced that Windows 10 will be available as a free download to PCs and tablets on July 29. Most hardware running Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 should be able to upgrade to the new operating system.

BlackBerry Mobile today kicked off the BlackBerry Fan League, a way for BlackBerry smartphone enthusiasts to connect with the brand. BlackBerry says participants will have the opportunity to win prizes, including smartphones, as well as participate in surveys and beta programs, and interface directly with the BlackBerry Mobile team.
New Blackberry Desktop Manager & Phone OS has Problems
I am not confident that if I had to restore the phone OS or data that it would take, and am holding off on updating to the v. 188.8.131.522 OS. RIM is supposed to fu with me tomorrow with their solution. Tech support also said they're having issues still with the new phone OS.
