RIM tonight will roll out an update to its Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app. Though not a final release version yet, the new beta will add requested features including geo-tagged tweet viewing, improved shortcuts and usability enhancements and old school, editable retweets. The updated app will also include a personal information guard that will warn users against sharing certain personal information, such as their BBM PIN and phone number. Existing users will get an update message, and new users can download the updated beta app from the BlackBerry App World.
BlackBerry Makes BBM Privacy Features Free
BBM users now have more control over their messages thanks to an update BlackBerry made available to Android, BlackBerry, and iOS devices. All three platforms now have unlimited use of the Retract and Timer features.
BlackBerry Improves BBM with Support for Lollipop and iOS 8
BlackBerry today pushed out BBM 2.6 to the Android and iOS platforms, as well as its own BlackBerry platform. All three versions of the app gain new features, including support for stickers within group chats and a 60-second option for time chats.
Android O Beta Now Available
Google today made the first public beta version of Android O available for download. The updated operating system is available to the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, and Pixel C, and the Nexus 6P, 5X, and Nexus Player.
BlackBerry Improves Priv's Launcher, Camera, and Keyboard
BlackBerry has updated several apps for the Priv smartphone and added several compelling features along the way. The Priv Launcher now includes separate views of personal and work apps, allows users to remove shortcuts from the home screen via flicking gestures, enables pop-up widgets by default, and improves overlays so users can see more information about apps and other settings.
