RIM CEO Talks Up OS 6.0
Apr 26, 2010, 1:10 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Today at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium, Research In Motion CEO Mike Lazaridis provided a few details about operating system 6.0. According to RIM, the new OS is a complete overhaul of how users will interact with the BlackBerry platform. It features better integration with touch-based phones, and appears to be initially optimized for devices such as the BlackBerry Storm. There are more fluid screen transitions and RIM noted that it is designed to support both touch and trackpad products. RIM will do everything it can to make the OS backward compatible with older devices. RIM said the OS will debut in the "next calendar quarter." More details about the platform will come later this week.
