Vonage Mobile Coming to AT&T and T-Mobile Android Phones
Apr 9, 2010, 1:09 PM by Philip Berne
Vonage, the VoIP provider, has announced that a new version of its Vonage Mobile app will be coming to the Android platform. The application will only be available to Android users on AT&T and T-Mobile. Vonage Mobile lets customers make VoIP calls using a Wi-Fi network, which can reduce costs for International calling. PhoneScoop asked Vonage reps about availability on Sprint and Verizon Wireless devices, but reps were unable to offer more details other than to say that the company was looking to expand the product to more devices, but would not specifically include Verizon Wireless with its Motorola Droid. Reps also refused to comment on whether Verizon Wireless' recent deal with Skype may be precluding the competing Vonage app's availability on Verizon devices. The Vonage Mobile app is already available for iPhone OS devices, including the iPod touch, and BlackBerry devices.
