HTC today opened an online Web store to sell HTC phones and accessories. Phones are available with a contract from the four major U.S. carriers, and some devices seem to carry a discount from carrier pricing. For instance, an HTC Hero on Sprint costs $100 from shopamerica.htc.com with an instant discount from LetsTalk.com, while the same phone costs $150 on Sprint's own Web site after a $100 mail-in rebate is applied. Similarly, the HTC Droid Eris on Verizon Wireless is free on HTC's own site, but costs $80 on Verizon's online store. Currently, no phones are available on HTC's online store unlocked; all devices are sold with a contract and carrier agreement. In addition to phones, the company is also selling accessories on the new ecommerce site.

The store is not just for HTC brand items

If you play around with the product ID portion of the web address, you can find both handsets and accessories for Samsung and LG brand items on multiple carriers. Many say the item is unavailable or back ordered, but some say they're in stock.
