Yahoo Launches 'Sketch-A-Search' App for iPhone

Today Yahoo announced a new search application for the iPhone called Sketch-A-Search. The search tool allows users to target their searches to specific geographical areas by drawing a circle around an area on the map where they'd like to see more information. At launch Sketch-A-Search will provide only search results about restaurants and other dining establishments in the U.S. Yahoo plans to add other countries and other categories to the searching tool over time. Yahoo also introduced a new search application for the iPhone. This full-featured search app integrates voice search, embedded maps, and information from Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Movies, and Yahoo News into the search results. The search application will also take advantage of location information and provide search results that are relevant to the user's location. The Yahoo! Search for iPhone app is available in 22 countries across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, and will continue to roll out to additional locations. Both applications are free to download from the iPhone Apps Store.
