Qualcomm Will Be First Chipset Company to Support Windows Phone 7 Series

Alongside Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Series announcements at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Qualcomm today declared they would be the first chipset company that will support the new mobile OS. Qualcomm specifically singled out its own Snapdragon chipset as part of the new design effort. No mention has yet been made of NVIDIA, whose Tegra chips power the Microsoft Zune HD with its similar interface design. Qualcomm and Microsoft both reiterated that the first Windows Phone 7 Series devices would hit the market during the holiday season of 2010.
