Samsung Announces Two New Camera Modules

Today Samsung announced new camera modules for mobile phones. The S5K4E2 CMOS image sensor rates 5 megapixels, has extended depth of field, can focus from 15cm to infinity, and can record video at 15 frames per second. It is sampling now and will be available later this quarter. The S5K5CA SoC (system on a chip) imager rates 3 megapixels, can record 720p HD video, and has an improved signal to noise ratio. This chip is already in full production. Both come in reduced footprints.
