Novatel today announced that it has successfully complete what it calls the first data transmission of HSPA+ dual-carrier technology. HSPA+ dual-carrier technology will enable slightly better throughput and can reach maximum speeds of 42Mbps on the download.

Sprint today said it has achieved peak download speeds of 295Mbps using three-channel carrier aggregation on the HTC 10 smartphone. Carrier aggregation pairs together multiple segments of spectrum to improve speed and capacity.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 Modem Powers 1.2Gbps Speeds
Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem, which it says is the first Category 18 modem capable of download speeds up to 1.2Gbps. The X20 is manufactured using a 10nm FinFET process.
T-Mobile Claims LTE-A Lab Downloads Reach 1.175 Gbps
T-Mobile and its technology partners Nokia and Qualcomm today said they've reached peak download speeds in excess of 1.175 Gbps using LTE-A equipment in a lab. In order to reach these speeds, T-Mobile and its partners used the "4.9G" Nokia AirScale Base Station together with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 LTE modem mobile test device.
