Novatel today announced that it has successfully complete what it calls the first data transmission of HSPA+ dual-carrier technology. HSPA+ dual-carrier technology will enable slightly better throughput and can reach maximum speeds of 42Mbps on the download.

AT&T Adds Carrier Aggregation to Several Big Cities
AT&T has expanded the use of carrier aggregation to its LTE network in New York City, San Francisco, and Dallas. Tom Keathley, AT&T's SVP of network and product planning, told Fierce Wireless that AT&T has deployed carrier aggregation "in a significant way." The company plans to further expand carrier aggregation across its network over the course of the year.
Sprint's 3-Channel LTE Reaches 295Mbps
Sprint today said it has achieved peak download speeds of 295Mbps using three-channel carrier aggregation on the HTC 10 smartphone. Carrier aggregation pairs together multiple segments of spectrum to improve speed and capacity.
