Critical Path Acquires ShoZu
Earlier this week, ShoZu announced that it was acquired by Critical Path. ShoZu allows users to upload images, videos and content to social networking sites, such as Facebook. Critical Path sells messaging and other services that are branded by other companies (called "white labeling"). The ShoZu service will continue to operate as is, and existing customers shouldn't see and major changes in their service. Critical Path said that some of ShoZu's features will be combined with its own over time.

Samsung is back with the Note8, a wholly reimagined handset when compared to the disastrous (and fire prone) Note7. This year's Note smartphone takes cues from Samsung's existing Galaxy S8 devices thanks to the Infinity Display with curved edges.
Facebook Testing Video Services
Facebook today said it is looking to increase the number of ways people can consume video on its platform. The company is testing a revised version of its suggested videos function on the iPhone, which purports to ease the discovery process for related strings of videos.
Verizon Outbids AT&T for Straight Path
Verizon Communications has won a bidding war for Straight Path Communications. AT&T announced plans to acquire Straight path for $1.6 billion last month.
