Samsung Jack Gets WinMo 6.5 Upgrade
Samsung has made Windows Mobile 6.5 available to the Jack smartphone. The new system software will add access to the Windows Mobile Marketplace, Internet Explorer 6, AT&T's Wi-Fi hotspots, and the new user interface. The upgrade is free.

Samsung today announced DeX, a desktop accessory for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ that allows them to function as computers when attached to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. DeX is similar in concept to Microsoft's Continuum product.
Windows 10 for PCs Lands July 29; No Word On Mobile
Microsoft today announced that Windows 10 will be available as a free download to PCs and tablets on July 29. Most hardware running Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 should be able to upgrade to the new operating system.
Microsoft Details Windows 10 Versions
Microsoft today said it will offer seven versions of Windows 10, including one tailored specifically for mobile phones. The versions are called Windows 10 Home, Pro, Mobile, Enterprise, Education, Mobile Enterprise, and IoT Core.
Windows 10 Mobile Arrives for Some Older Handsets
Microsoft has begun making Windows 10 Mobile available to older smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft first expected to release the platform in November or December of last year, but pushed the update to the first quarter.
Microsoft Adding Biometric Security Support to Windows 10
Microsoft today said Windows 10 will natively support biometric security measures, such as fingerprints, retina scans, or facial recognition. Microsoft's biometric authentication service is called Windows Hello and it will be available to PCs, tablets, and smartphones.
