Today Google made a new search feature available to the Android platform. The revised Quick Search Box that is built into the Android home screen can now search both the web and the phone itself. It will suggest search queries as users type, and also supports voice search and voice dialing of user contacts. Last, Google has integrated the Quick Search Box function within the Android Market. This will allow third-party apps to take advantage of the quick search box features. The Quick Search Box will be integrated into Android 1.6.
