PCD Joins the Android Army
Today Personal Communications Devices announced that it has chosen Google's Android platform for a range of future devices, such as netbooks and "other converged devices that are embedded with wireless communications." PCD didn't specifically state that it will make mobile phones using Android, but the company does make a wide range of cell phones. PCD has also created a new division to oversee development of Android products.

Google today announced Daydream, a brand new platform for expanding virtual reality to more devices. The Daydream spec will be defined so hardware makers can make sure they create compatible phones.
Chrome for Android Gains Eddystone Beacon Smarts
Google says the latest release of Chrome for Android supports Eddystone Bluetooth beacons and can surface what's known as "physical web" content to nearby devices. Google's Eddystone beacons can now broadcast web content, such as URLs, to Android devices within range.

Google is working on several updates to Android Wear that will introduce more features to the platform for wearables. Director of Engineering for Android Wear, David Singleton, told CNET that the first update to arrive will add certain Bluetooth functions to Android Wear.
