AT&T Fires Up 850MHz in Colorado Springs
Today AT&T said that it has begun using its 850MHz spectrum holdings to provide service in the Colorado Springs, Colo., area. Users in that region should experience better network performance.
LG V30 First to Support T-Mobile's 600 MHz Spectrum
LG and T-Mobile today said the new V30 flagship smartphone will be the first device capable of operating on T-Mobile's brand new 600 MHz spectrum, or Band 71. T-Mobile kicked off 600 MHz service in Cheyenne, Wyo., two weeks ago and today added Scarborough, Maine.
T-Mobile Turns On 700MHz Service in Miami
T-Mobile today said LTE is now available on its Band 12 700MHz spectrum throughout the greater Miami area. T-Mobile is marketing such service as "Extended Range LTE" thanks to the signal propagation characteristics of 700MHz, which travels farther distances and penetrates buildings more easily.
FCC Bestows More 600 MHz Licenses
The FCC today granted licenses for 600 MHz spectrum to those companies that placed winning bids during the incentive auction, which concluded earlier this year. The FCC has already distributed some of the 600 MHz licenses, including some to T-Mobile.
FCC Greenlights AT&T Spectrum Deal
The FCC has approved AT&T's request to purchase two Cellular A Block licenses and microwave point-to-point spectrum from Cellular Properties Inc. The spectrum covers 11 counties and parts of two Cellular Market Areas in Illinois.
