Today AT&T said that it has begun using its 850MHz spectrum holdings to provide service in the Colorado Springs, Colo., area. Users in that region should experience better network performance.

T-Mobile today offered some details about its LTE network. To start, it has expanded its LTE service footprint to cover 260 million POPs — an increase of 10 million POPs over the last two months.
T-Mobile Turns On 700MHz Service in Miami
T-Mobile today said LTE is now available on its Band 12 700MHz spectrum throughout the greater Miami area. T-Mobile is marketing such service as "Extended Range LTE" thanks to the signal propagation characteristics of 700MHz, which travels farther distances and penetrates buildings more easily.
AT&T Targeting Summer Launch for LTE in WCS Spectrum
AT&T plans to begin deploying LTE service in its 2.3GHz WCS spectrum holdings this summer. AT&T acquired some WCS spectrum from NextWave in 2012 and more from Sprint in 2014.

AT&T today announced its intent to purchase Nextel Mexico, which covers 76 million customers across the country. Nextel Mexico is owned by NII Holdings and AT&T will pay it $1.875 billion.
T-Mobile Snags A Bit More 700MHz Spectrum
T-Mobile recently asked the FCC for permission to buy spectrum licenses from Actel, a company owned by CenturyLink. The deal includes 13 licenses that cover various small cities in portions of Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
